What is Fibre Broadband or FTTC?

Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) is a new type of broadband which uses fibre optic cable to increase the speed of your broadband connection; up to 80 Mbps. Fibre Broadband involves running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange or distribution point to the street cabinets, hence fibre to the cabinet. When this new technology is combined with a standard copper phone line to your premise it provides you with a high speed broadband connection.
